This section contains digital copies of books that have been preserved for generations on library shelves before being scanned by Google as part of a project to make the world’s books discoverable online. They have survived long enough for the copyright to expire and for the books to enter the public domain.
Any marks, notations and other marginalia present in the original volume will appear in the scanned copy, a reminder of these books’ long journeys from publisher to library and finally to you.
These books are in PDF (Portable Document Format) files for which you will need a suitable reader: for Windows platforms I recommend Adobe Reader. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your PC, you can download and install it from Adobe’s Web site. When you have downloaded and installed Adobe Reader, close the browser window which you used to access Adobe’s Web site and you will be returned here.
